Run Pal
Monitor your workouts and keep a running journal

The Genesis of Run Pal
The idea for Run Pal came from a personal need. I wanted a clean, straightforward application to log my runs without the bloat of social features found in larger apps. I needed a simple tracker to monitor distance, pace, and how I felt after a workout.
Features
- Workout Logging: Quickly log distance, duration, and date.
- Journaling: A text area for adding notes, weather conditions, or how the run felt.
- Progress Tracking: A dashboard that visualizes total distance over time.
Technology Stack
Run Pal is built using modern web technologies:
- Next.js for the frontend and routing.
- Tailwind CSS for a responsive, mobile-first design.
- PostgreSQL (via Supabase) for secure and scalable data storage.
- Prisma for type-safe database queries.
The Dashboard
The dashboard provides a quick overview of recent runs. A clean chart displays distance covered over the last 30 days, motivating the user to keep up their habit.
Why build this?
Building this application taught me a lot about managing state, visualizing data with charting libraries, and deploying full-stack Next.js applications with a PostgreSQL backend.
The Result
The result is a fast, responsive application that I use personally to track my progress. It’s a perfect example of building a tool to solve your own problem.
